Q. I want to know what is meant by unequally yoked. Whether it be in a relationship or a marriage.
What examples could you give as far as being unequally yoked. I have read 2Corinthians 6:14-18, I understood what could happen if you get involved with someone unequally yoked, but I need clarification of what unequally yoked is.

Could it be two individuals saved and unequally yoked, or is it just two unsaved persons, or one unsaved and one saved person? Could it be someone saved and the other a new born in Christ?  I need some clarification of the subject.?

A. Unequally Yoked .... Interesting Topic...  In 2 Corinthians 6, there is a clear distinction. The literal text is dealing with those that are saved and those that are unsaved.

However, this does not mean that just because 2 individuals are saved they now have a license to marry. Nor does is mean that the 2 people cannot be unequally yoked in other areas. As you have mentioned, if you are Mature in Christ and in a relationship with a Babe then by virtue of the two of you being on two totally different levels you are unequally yoked as far as maturity is concern. 

The bottom line is that this will tremendously affect your spiritual life with God and the individual you are with.

Other areas that one can be unequally yoked in are:

Intellectually
Financially
Educationally

All of these areas can and may affect your relationship with another person.

 

Q. Test/Temptation: How do I know which is which? I know God cannot tempt me, but how do I know when it’s a test? (Bishop Jakes has an awesome tape on Temptation).

A. TEST or TEMPTATION???  First - let me say that I have not listen to Bishop Jakes series on temptation.  However here's the answer to your question. 

Test are designed to Elevate you but Temptations are design to Deflate you and pull you off course. When God want to take you to the next level - there is a qualification process. You must past the test. All the while, of course, the devil plans a temptation to keep you from going (Snares and Entrapments). The Holy Spirit will help you discern the difference as you rely upon Him and the Word of God in your belly.  There are so many scriptures that I can give on this issue but for now holdfast to these.  

1) God does not tempt mankind.

James 1:13-14  Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:  But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

2) You Don't Have To Give In.

I Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
 

3) The Holy Spirit is the Only one designed to help, keep and sustain you!  This means that you cannot keep yourself.

Jude 1:24-25 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

 

Q. Promises/Desires: Are the desires I have really the promises of God or are they separate? And my desire must be in line with His Word. How do I know when God has promised me something?

A. My Desire & His Will... -  The desires that you have are only the promises of God if you can find them in God's Word. As you submit to Him, your Will becomes engulfed in His. Please remember - whatever God promises will be consistent with His Will - which of course, is His Word. The other point is "Purpose".  If you are ever trying to determine whether or not something is really from God, remember to ask and receive answers to the following questions:

a.) Is this in His Will?
b.) Is this found in His Word for the Believer?
c.) Does it line up with my pre-ordained Purpose?

Here's a couple of  more questions to ask...

d.) How does this benefit the Kingdom of God (Can people be saved - delivered - made free by what I'm pursuing)?    e.) Have I received the Peace of God that passeth all human understanding?

Perhaps, these last questions will help you :o)

Q. What is the difference between prayer and petition?

A. Prayer & Petition?  There are many kinds of prayers - Petition is just one of them. Prayer of Petition is when you are seeking God for something. You petition Him.  Another example of prayer is that of Agreement - and there are several more.  There should be a time for each. As I stated earlier, the Prayer of Petition is when you are petitioning God for something.  Is it ok to ask Him?  Sure it is - Let's see what Jesus has to say about it.

John 16:23-24  And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.  Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

And his Disciple James...

James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
