SUBMISSION - - THE KEY WORD TO YOUR SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE
Romans 8:14 ~ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
1. IF THE WIFE IS LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD, THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL TEACH HER SUBMISSION.
Definition for Submission: {Greek} Hupotasso = means placing oneself VOLUNTARILY under the rank of another.
Perfect Illustration from our example setter: Jesus, though equal with the Father, willingly placed himself under submission to the Father.
Philippians 2:5-8
2. DIFFERENT IN FUNCTION, YET CO-EQUAL IN ESSENCE
Statement Of Truth: Although Jesus was equal with the Father in essence, he became subject to Him in function in order to accomplish salvation for mankind. Likewise, the wife, although she is co-equal with her husband, must submit herself in the same way Jesus did to the Father in order to fulfill her God given function in assisting her husband to become a quality leader. Furthermore this will also help in attaining the goals (visions) which God has laid out for their lives.
3. WHO SAID SO???
Ephesians 5:22-23 ... and in the mouth of two or three witnesses let the word be established .... 1 Peter 2:21-25; 3:1 As you read 2:21 through 25, you will probably be wondering what all of this has to do with the wife. Well, chapter 3 verse 1 starts off like this ... Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands ...In other words, there is a direct link to the preceding passage of scripture that serves as an example to chapter 3 verse 1.
20. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently?
but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
21. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his
steps:
22. Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
23. Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth
righteously:
24. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
25. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
Am I saying that you should put
up with everything? No! Am I saying allow him to abuse you? No! This
scripture is simply setting the precedence for the attitude that should be
displayed. REMEMBER, the battle is not yours BUT God's.
4. FACTORS OF MOTIVATION FOR SUBMISSION
(A.) It's Commanded by God. (B.) When acted upon, it will assist in God's Kingdom being established here in/on earth.
STATEMENT OF TRUTH: SUBMISSION OF WIFE TO HER OWN HUSBAND IS NOT A MATTER OF CHOICE OR A TOPIC OF DEBATE.
ANOTHER STATEMENT OF TRUTH: IT IS A COMMAND OF GOD, AND WHEN THE WIFE DOES SUBMIT, SHE BRINGS GLORY TO GOD AND HONOR TO HER HUSBAND!!!
STILL ANOTHER STATEMENT OF TRUTH: SUBMISSION OF A WIFE TO HER OWN HUSBAND IS NOT A MARK OF INFERIORITY, BUT AN INDICATION OF HER WILLINGNESS TO BE OBEDIENT TO GOD AND ACCEPTANCE OF HIS PERFECT WILL FOR HER LIFE!!!

BUT WHAT IF I DON'T AGREE WITH THE WAY HE SEES THINGS?...THEN LEARN TO AGREE WITH GOD AND HE'LL TAKE CARE OF YOUR HUSBAND...ooooooooh. It's Tight but It's Right!
6. HOW DO I GET HIM (MY HUSBAND) TO LOVE ME LIKE CHRIST LOVES THE CHURCH? Ladies listen ----------

KJV: While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
ASV: beholding your chaste behavior coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on apparel; but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible apparel of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
Wives Have Got To Learn To ---
1. To use wisdom in speech - This does not mean to use the silent treatment, but speak with wisdom. REMEMBER Proverbs 18:21 ---- Death and Life are in the power of your tongue.
