MARK 3:27

- No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

MAN, BE A MAN!

FIRST THINGS, FIRST

I.                  GOD’S ORIGINAL INTENT FOR THE MAN

GENESIS 1:26 & 27; 2:7

26.  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

a.)                I WAS CREATED TO RULE

27(a) So God created man in his own image

b.)                I WAS CREATED JUST LIKE MY DADDY

2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

C.) I WAS CREATED WITH THE GOD STUFF INSIDE OF ME

II.               NEXT COMES RESPONSIBILITY

GENESIS 2:15-18

15.  And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

16.  And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17.  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

18.  And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

a.)                A Job (Purpose)

- Purpose Produces Passion

b.)                Rules

c.)                Instructions

d.)                A Wife

III.           THE DEADLY CONSEQUENCES OF SIN

GENESIS 3:9-13

9.  And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

10.  And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

11.  And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

12.  And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

o       I Heard Thy Voice

o       I Was Afraid

o       Because I Was Naked

o       And I Hid

o       It’s The Woman – And Guess What God?  You Gave Me!

IV.              THE ENEMY IS IN-A-ME AND IN-A-MY-HOUSE!

MARK 3:27

27.  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

V.               QUIT CRYING AND COMPLAING – TAKE A STAND!

VI.              THE TRAGEDY OF NOT HANDLING YOU RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAKING ESCUSES

LUKE 14:16-24

16.  Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:

17.  And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

18.  And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.

19.  And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.

20.  And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

21.  So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.

22.  And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.

23.  And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

24.  For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

Now, For Those Who Simply Feel Too Incompetent, Inadequate, Insufficient & Insignificant For God To Use You, Just Remember The Following People:

                 Noah was drunk,

                 Abraham was too old,

                 Isaac was a daydreamer,

                 Jacob was a liar,

                 Joseph was abused,

Moses, David and Paul were all murderers,

                 Gideon was afraid,

                 Samson had long hair,

Jeremiah and Timothy were too young,

David pretended to be mad, had an affair and ran away from his own son,

                 Elijah was suicidal,

       Solomon was a womanizer,

                 Isaiah preached naked,

                 Jonah ran away from God,

                 Job was bankrupt,

                 John the Baptist ate locusts,

                 Peter was impulsive and hot-tempered,

                 John was self-righteous,

The disciples fell asleep while praying,

The boy with the fish and five rolls of bread was too unknown (and still is),

                 Zacchaeus was too small,

                 Paul was too religious,

Timothy had a stomach ulcer, and

                 Lazarus was dead.

No more excuses!

MAN, BE A MAN!
